Open Interest: Aggregated Perpetual Futures OI by Exchange

Open interest (OI) is the size of positions still open in the futures market. It rises when new longs and shorts are matched and falls when positions are closed or liquidated. Here, perpetual futures open interest on Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget and Hyperliquid is converted to US dollars and summed per coin.

Open interest does not show direction. Rising OI with a rising price is usually read as new longs (or shorts holding on) building up, and falling OI with a falling price as long liquidations; read together with funding rates, it hints at which side is building. OI near all-time highs is seen as a market vulnerable to large liquidation events.
